GARDEN CITY -- Police say a Boise woman suspected of drunk driving led officers on a dangerous, high-speed chase throughout parts of Garden City and West Boise just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
They say 26-year-old Anne Elizabeth Rosenberger from Boise failed to stop after Garden City police tried to pull her over on suspicion of DUI near Veterans Memorial Parkway and Adams Street.
Police say after that, Rosenberger led them on a high-speed chase where she ran several red lights, drove the wrong way down a one-way street, hit a tree, and nearly crashed into other vehicles.
Rosenberger is reported to have reached speeds of 65 mph. during the five-minute pursuit, which police say stopped at a dead-end in downtown Boise near Borah and 9th streets.
But the drama didn't end there.
Once stopped, Police say the 26-year-old refused to get out of her car, forcing police to use less-than-lethal foam rounds to break the windows out of her 2002 Red Dodge Neon.
Rosenberger suffered minor cuts from the broken window glass. She was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released to police custody.
Rosenberger was then booked into the Ada County Jail on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, obstructing police officers, open container of alcohol, driving without privileges (second offense), hit and run, and felony charges of eluding police.
Garden City Deputy Chief Rick Allen told KTVB that at the time of the chase, Rosenberger had one previous conviction for DUI, and one pending case of DUI charges.
None of the officers or citizens involved in the chase were injured.
